E2logy Roorkee Seva app launched by IIT Roorkee

Throughout its history, IIT Roorkee has produced engineers and leaders who have served the nation. “IIT Roorkee” and its city “Roorkee” have grown together throughout these years, contributing to each other’s success. As a gesture of gratitude, IIT Roorkee has launched an online service platform for citizens of Roorkee. The project has been designed and developed by the E2logy team.

Launch of the platform

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) launched its citizen service app Roorkee Seva on September 2nd to commemorate its 175th anniversary. The “Roorkee Seva” app is available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store and can be accessed through web browsers. The app allows users to book services such as doctor appointments and cabs from anywhere in the world. The platform facilitates the connection between users and trained and verified service providers, including professionals, in one place.

How it will help users

E2logy created an online service platform named “Roorkee Seva” that can connect Roorkee residents, who want instant access to high-quality Health Care, Transportation, Household, Emergency, and Education, with the businesses offering these services. The platform has the possibility for residents to register with very basic details (e.g. name and mobile phone). The service providers can register their businesses with the required specific details. These providers include specialized doctors (e.g. plumbers, electricians, carpenters, fruit or vegetable vendors, etc.).

The platform has five main areas- Health Care, Transportation, Household, Emergency, and Education.

1. Health Care:This area provides services that are related to health. Residents of Roorkee will be able to book and cancel online appointments with doctors.
2. Transportation:This area provides two services- E-rickshaw for local travel and taxi service for local and inter-city travel.
3. Households:This area provides services from other service providers such as electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and fruit or vegetable vendors.
4. Emergency:This area has a quick call button to contact firefighters, ambulance, or police and several contact numbers with the possibility to call any of them.
5. Education:This area provides services of educational classes like yoga, music, sports, etc.

The main objective of “Roorkee Seva” is to provide residents of Roorkee with immediate access to affordable and reliable services. Customers will have a seamless booking experience on the platform because it allows them to book services instantly and securely. Also, the platform will enhance the lives of the residents living in those neighborhoods by bringing the communities together.

Creation of the platform

This project involves the development of a mobile app (android, iOS) and a web portal that will be used by residents of Roorkee. The platform is very simple and easy to use for both Hindi and English language for Roorkee citizens, providing 30+ services in Healthcare, Transport, Education, Households, emergencies, and Grievances.

  • E2logy created an online service platform named “Roorkee Seva” that can connect Roorkee residents, who want instant access to high-quality Health Care, Transportation, Household, Emergency, and Education, with the businesses offering these services.
  • Residents can register with very basic details such as their name and mobile number on the platform.
  • To register their businesses, the service providers need to provide the required information.
  • The platform also has an admin panel for IIT Roorkee Team so that they can add or edit service categories, residents and service providers, etc.
  • We developed the web platform using PHP (Laravel Framework) for the back-end, ReactJS for the front-end, and my SQL for the database.
  • For the iOS platform, the mobile app was developed using Swift, and for the Android platform, it was built using Kotlin XML.

E2logy delivered a solution for the client that provided their clients with a highly user-friendly application with amazing service. As a whole, the processes that were implemented were quite successful, both during development as well as during design.

So, all in all, it is a complete end-to-end solution for customers who want instant access to high-quality Health Care, Transportation, Household, Emergency, and Education services without any trouble.
